What is Microblading?
Microblading is a semi-permanent tattoo. Unlike traditional tattooing, which uses a tattoo machine, Microblading uses 14 micro needles lined in a row and creates tiny hair-like strokes.  It's said to have originated in Japan fairly recently.  While it's popularity has been growing like wildfire in Europe and Asia it has only been in the US for a few years.  It utilizes very superficial lines and precise strokes. The deeper you place pigment the more chance of the lines becoming blurry and thick. I coat the skin with pure pigments and the color absorbs into the tiny strokes giving the appearance of actual hairs! It is a meticulous and very artistic process. If someone isn't good at shaping eyebrows, they will NOT be good at Microblading.

Does it hurt?
Not much! Slight discomfort is typical during the process, and so is a little tenderness in the area afterwards similar to a sunburned feeling. I use an amazing numbing cream. The tiny amount of pain is so worth not having to draw on your brows!

Do you have to shave off my eyebrows?

NO! Microblading is not meant to be an alternative to eyebrow hair unless you don't have any to begin with. It looks the best when you already have a little hair to blend in with it! I simply draw the shape of your brows and then anything outside of those lines gets tweezed away. You will no longer have to worry about the brows looking "fake" or "penciled in" because if done correctly, you can't tell the difference between the real hair and the Microbladed hairs.

How long does it last?
One year. The color isn't meant to stay in the skin for longer than that. If you love your brows and want to keep them fresh you can schedule Full Touchups to keep them perfect.

Does it work for everyone?
Unfortunately, not everyone is a candidate. People with trouble healing, taking blood thinners, or with extremely oily skin can have a hard time healing properly which in turn causes patchy or incomplete lines. Some strokes may not hold no matter what I do. However you will at least have a template to follow when penciling in the areas that didn't stick. Everyone is different and heals differently.  I choose not to work on pregnant women, where some Microblading specialists will, and there is no proof that it is bad for the baby... but there is also no proof that it isn't! At the very least to avoid unnecessary stress.  Because of this, I would rather wait until baby is safe and out of mamas belly, then we can give you those perfect brows.

What can I expect afterwards?
We tell our clients to prepare for seven days of active healing. Changes can occur daily as you progress towards being completely healed and it is extremely important to follow any given after care instructions. For the first few days after your service you can expect the color to appear darker and the lines to even appear slightly thicker. This is because the pigment is still at the very top of the skin and needs to continue to absorb. Scabbing and flakiness are the final stages of healing. Once the flakes are gone the true pigment is revealed and the crisp lines will return to their normal state. We recommended that you come in two to three months after your initial service for your Included Touchup. This ensures that there are no patches or areas that need more pigment and that your brows are ready to last you the year!

What can I do to maintain them?
Wear SPF, avoid tanning your face, use mild cleansers on your brows and avoid retinol, acids, or Retin-A in the area. Other than that you wake up with perfect brows that are waterproof and perfectly sculpted for your face.

Is it expensive?
Our price is $500 and includes your first touchup (within 90 days). I am one of a VERY small number of people in the state certified and licensed to perform this service. And the first in my area.

Is it sterile?

YES! Everything I use is completely disposable and a very strong hospital grade cleanser is used to clean the room between each and every client.

When can I book?
Today! A $100 non-refundable deposit, included in our price, is required to hold the two hour appointment.  Please give us a call at 302-477-1705 to schedule with someone directly or visit our online scheduler to set up the perfect appointment.

Disclaimer

Any permanent/ semi permanent make-up is a form of cosmetic tattooing where pigment is placed in the dermal/epidermal layer of the tissue. Retention of the pigment is out of control, as it is determined by the patient's skin type, how well they follow the after-care procedures, as well as their immune system, therefore no specific result can be 100% guaranteed. All instruments that enter the skin or come in contact with body fluids are disposable and disposed of after use. Cross contamination guidelines are strictly adhered to.
